Conca dei Marini

Conca dei Marini is one of the most evocative towns of the Amalfi Coast: the small white houses of the bay remember the ancient sea village, and they form a picturesque panorama.
In front of the town there is the cape of Capo di Conca, where the Torre Saracena rises, an ancient tower built in 1563 in order to defend the population from the pirates.
In Conca it is possible to visit one of the natural wonders of the Amalfi Coast, the Grotta dello Smeraldo (cave of the emerald), a grotto partially filled by sea water, that, thanks to a crack in the cliff from which the sunlight enters, assumes a spectacular colour, like an emerald.
Among the interesting monuments we remember also the church and the monastery of Santa Rosa and the church of Santa Maria di Grado, located on a cliff that dominates the coast.
